  2. Here’s another pic from Power Play #3, which went on sale on Comixology on Wednesday— http://t.co/x6jxU3kR

It’s fun exploring the new storytelling possibilities available on digital platforms like iPods, Kindles, etc, and I’m really happy with how Power Play’s turning out.  Give it a read and I’d love to hear what you think!

  3. Power Play #3 is live and available at Comixology!  Just click here— http://t.co/x6jxU3kR

This issue continues the story of Mac’s introduction to the Power Play games, and continues to break new ground in digital storytelling.  It’s really cool to make such a unique comic like this, and I think this issue is the best so far, and does the most with the digital effects.

Please check it out, and I’d love to hear what you think!

It must be Gowanus Pete’s younger brother!

  6. “POWER PLAY moves with the kind of fluidity with won’t find in most print comics. As an original digital series, it is a brilliant hybrid of sequential art and modern technology. “

  10. Who’s ready for NYCC???
I’ll be in Artist’s Alley at table N2, taking commissions and selling prints as usual, but the big news for me at Comic Con this year will be…
    POWER PLAY’S COMIN’ OUT!

After working on it for what feels like forever, the first issue of me and Kurt Christenson’s creator-owned comic Power Play will be released on Comixology on Wednesday, October 12th!  It costs $1.99, but will be on sale on the release date and through Comic Con (13th-16th) for $0.99, so make sure to get it while it’s hot!
We’ll be all over the convention promoting it, and there may even be an appearance by Gowanus Pete himself.

Keep up with the Power Play blog at http://www.powerplaycomic.com and the Comixology homepage at http://www.comixology.com for more information.

I’m so excited to finally be getting some creator-owned stuff out there, and really excited to be doing it in this new digital medium, with all the new storytelling tricks to play around with!  Have you seen the preview yet?  http://www.comixology.com/digital/12727/Power-Play
Please check it out to see what I’ve been doing, and leave a comment or give a rating to let other people know what you think. Since this is an independent comic, you’ll never have a better chance to support me and Kurt with what we’ve been doing!

Check out some of the things other comics pros have been saying about it—

“BLAM! This is the kind of comics I want to read! Fast, fun, clever, goofy, and really well drawn! Like the boy said, “Please, sir, I want some more!”
—Chris Burnham (BATMAN INC, OFFICER DOWNE)

“Power Play has got a winning hand of high-octane action and clever character work, along with the best use of the digital medium in a superhero comic I’ve ever seen.”
—Fred Van Lente (AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, INCREDIBLE HERCULES)

“A cross between Teen Titans and Entourage, Kurt Christenson and Reilly Brown celebrate 21st Century geek-chic with POWER PLAY, the next best thing in young-adult superhero comics!”
—Dean Haspiel (BILLY DOGMA, BORED TO DEATH)

“Power Play spares no panels getting straight to the action, and maintains a fast clip throughout. In just one issue, Christenson and Reilly introduce an ensemble cast of unique and charming characters with seemingly little effort. Reilly is doing the work of his career, and seems to be channeling some kind of manga mastery at the moment, something I never recognized in his art before. And if all that wasn’t enough, you can’t beat Gowanus Pete.”
    —Paolo Rivera (AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, DAREDEVIL)

“Reilly and Kurt have captured the perfect method of storytelling for the digital age of comics. Reilly’s always-excellent storytelling only excels when he controls the way your eye sees the panels. POWERPLAY is all about slacker superheroes who aren’t even superheroes and I can’t wait to see where they take it!”
    —Fabian Nicieza (X-Men, ROBIN)
